Our Mission:

Okahandja Home-Based Caregivers” were established to contribute towards care, education, restoring hope and improving quality of life for HIV/Aids sufferers in our community.

Application for funding and/or donations:

Herewith a proposal from the Okahandja Home-Based Caregivers (Registered W.O.)

Introduction

In order for our HIV/Aids program to continue operating, we urgently need funds and/or donations. We only have funds up to the end of March and we depend on contributions from our community and other caring donors. We operate from a building in the centre of the Nau-Aib on Joel Humba Street – exactly where help is needed most.

Below is the background and additional information would gladly be provided by Me.Magdalena Meyer, our leader and Mrs.Susan de Beer, our treasurer.

Background information:

·         We are a group of volunteers, trained as Home-Based Caregivers by the MoHSS, from all walks of life, different cultures and languages, that care for the people in our community, living with H.I.V/Aids. We have been operating as an organization since October 2004 and renovated our building during 2006 (with the help of NAMDEB and Bank Windhoek), situated in the centre of Nau-Aib. Our main activity has always been Home-Based Care – care for the client in his/her home.

·         We are 15 active Caregivers (14 female and 1 male) and managed since then to train our members in several positions like: General Management; Resource Mobilization; Financial Management; Project Cycle Management; TOT Home-Based Care and Community Outreach and Nutrition Management through different NGO’s.
